Father and son miraculously survive a terrible accident, that almost left their car in pieces after a huge industrial metal pipe fell on the vehicle's roof. The two escaped with just a few scratches, but with a huge scare and a ruined car.

Brian Smith, 45-year-old, was driving his son, also called Brian, to his swimming lessons when their Vauxhall Corsa's roof was completely smashed by a gigantic pipe. The overhead pipe was loose and damaged by recent storms and fell exactly when the two were driving by.

After figuring out what happened, the man's first concern was his son, and when he saw him, the seven-year-old was completely unhurt, according to Daily Mail. “My first thought was for wee Brian. I turned to him in panic – he was sitting there without a scratch on him. I couldn't believe it,” the seven-year-old's father said.

The lucky two were immediately assisted by people who saw the accident and aid workers who came to the scene. “It was terrifying. We were driving along normally when all of a sudden there was this enormous bang, like a bomb going off. Everything went white as the windscreen exploded. I was stunned,” Mr. Smith explains to Daily Mail.

Brian's father got stuck under the vehicle's collapsed roof and had to be cut out by emergency service workers. When he was finally freed, he was amazed to see that he had just a few relatively minor injuries. The Smith family was then taken to the hospital to check for any other not visible injuries, but the two were just panicked from the scare.

Even the officials handling the case said that it was a “lucky escape” for the two Brians and that they should consider themselves survivors. The nearby roads were closed in order to verify and ensure that nothing similar could happen to any other motorists.
