Mio, a Taiwanese manufacturer of GPS and PDA devices, recently unveiled two of its latest products named Mio Leap K1 and Mio Leap G50. The new handsets are presented during the Computex 2008 fair held in Taipei between June 3 and 7, they both run on Windows Mobile and integrate advanced navigation functions.

Mio Leap K1 is a dual-side, dual-screen device that combines the functionality of a mobile phone with the one of a GPS navigator. On one side, the K1 looks like a regular phone with a large alphanumeric keypad, an easy to use directional pad and a screen that doesn't seem to be too big, while on the other side it unveils a wide display, suitable for GPS navigation and map viewing. The handset's features include: built-in GPS receiver with 20 channels, A-GPS, MioMap 2008 (with a navigation mode for cars and one for pedestrians), a 400 MHz Samsung processor, 2GB of internal memory, Music and Video players, Bluetooth, a 2.0 Megapixel camera (with video recording), tri-band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) and a battery that can offer a talk-time of up to 5 hours.

Mio Leap G50 is a full-touchscreen handset that runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and comes with the whole array of associated applications, like Outlook Mobile, Office Mobile and Windows Live. Furthermore, the G50 features a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen display of unknown (yet) resolution and quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE. The rest of its specs coincide with the ones of Leap K1: built-in GPS, MioMap 2008, Media player, Bluetooth, a 2 Megapixel camera with video and so on.

Mio did not announce the prices of Leap K1 and Leap G50, nor where and when the handsets will be available. Anyway, both devices should hit the market in the next months and we hope they reach other markets too, besides the Asian ones - where they'll surely be commercialized.
