Canadian mobile phone users who own a Galaxy S III smartphone can now download new software for their devices, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

The over-the-air update for Samsung Galaxy S III (SGH-i747M) comes with a series of bug fixes, better battery life and improved stability, while enabling users to adjust screen brightness from the drop-down menu.

The OS remains 4.0.4 even after the update, but the aforementioned enhancements should make users happy still.

Apparently, the new platform release weighs 100.27MB for Bell’s handsets, and 86.08MB at Rogers. TELUS users are also said to have started receiving the update, but there’s no word on the rest of the carrier-branded devices.

To check whether the update is available for their phones, users should hit Settings >> About Device >> Software Update.
