Coming to make a new contribution to the ever growing collection of available NAND Flash-based storage solutions, Kingmax has just released the PD-01 series, a line of flash drives that use the COB technology.

Setting aside the USB 3.0 connection for nor, since it is far from mainstream either way, Kingmax stuck to the high-Speed USB 2.0 standard when it made its newest drives.

On the other hand, the company put special effort in refining the design and making it as compact as possible while still capable of packing multiple gigabytes inside.

The main asset of the newcomers is that they feature the COB (Chip On Board) technology, this being the main reason for their small size and endurance.

To be more specific, the products measure 35.3 (L) x 17.5 (W) x 7.4 (H) mm and are waterproof and dustproof, according to the official announcement.

The other design element that gives these units their appeal is their 360 degree revolving cap.

“Innovative 360° revolving protection cap, just rotate the color body out you can easy to use it and rotate in to store it,” states the press release.

“Its special design provides conveniences and extra delight for all users. The lovable appearance and unique design of the PD-01 correspond to the fashionable depression-healing products, thus making it the most ideal storage for office application to working people,” the release added.

The Kingmax PD-01 comes in four capacities, namely 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB, each one colored differently, green, orange, blue and red, respectively.

Other specifications include Compliance with the RoHS directive, CE, FCC and BSMI certifications and support for Support Windows 7, Vista READYBOOST technology.

As for pricing and availability, an exact tag has not been mentioned, but when they do start selling, they will come with a lifetime warranty.
