It seems that the Xbox 360 version of indie hit Minecraft will soon be getting a special Halo-themed texture pack from the development team at 4J Studios, which will allow gamers to use content associated with Master Chief to decorate their game world.

The information comes from an official Twitter message that was delivered by Microsoft Studios, which also includes an image of how the new content will look.

At the moment, neither 4J Studios nor Mojang has stated exactly when the Halo texture pack for Minecraft will be launched or how much it will cost.

More information will be offered in the coming weeks and presumably the companies are also introducing a new update for the game alongside the new content.

Previous texture packs for Minecraft on the Xbox 360 have been inspired by such high-profile titles like Mass Effect and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the team working on the experience has said that it is working with other companies in order to deliver other interesting in-game elements in the near future.

The Halo franchise is one of the biggest that has been exclusively associated with the Xbox brand of home consoles and it could once more lead to a spike in sales for the indie title, which has been performing very well on all platforms on which it has been launched.

Minecraft is set to soon appear on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

At the moment, Mojang is working on a number of other titles, but so far, none of them has managed to become a hit.

Microsoft has promised that it will deliver more information about the future of the Halo series of video games at some point during the E3 2014 press conference.

We already know that there are two television series based on the character of Master Chief and his universe that are being created by Steven Spielberg and by Ridley Scott, which should both be delivered in late 2014 or next year.

Rumors are saying that the future of Halo will see the main character confront a new powerful alien threat, which might be somehow connected to Cortana, which aims to take out the entirety of sentient life in the galaxy.

Rumors are also suggesting that the experience might introduce some big changes in terms of gameplay, including an open world structure that gives players more freedom to explore the game world.
