Mojang has just updated its massively successful Minecraft game to version 1.2, bringing plenty of new features while solving some lingering issues with the pixelated world building simulator. Minecraft became a hit even before it left its alpha stage, capturing millions of players with its simple yet fiendishly complex gameplay that let them build all sorts of structures by using and combining materials found in its world.

Even after releasing the final version of the game late last year, developer Mojang keeps on bringing new content to the game.

The latest update takes it to version 1.2, which includes a brand new jungle biome, as well as plenty of cats and other animals like ocelots or wolf puppies.

The map’s height limit has been doubled, which means you can now build even bigger structures in the game’s world while using some new items and blocks.

Check out the whole list of changes brought forth by Minecraft’s update 1.2 below.

- New jungle biome - Added ocelots - Added cats - Added iron golems - New AI for mobs - Tame wolves can have puppies - Villagers will have children if there is room in their village - New map height limit (256 instead of 128) - New items and blocks - Doors have been updated so that double-doors work better with redstone - Added rare drops for mobs - Many other minor tweaks and fixes

Xbox 360 gamers should rest assured, as their upcoming version of Minecraft will have all of these things included when it’s finally going to be released on the home console.

Mojang even released a pretty funny video about the new update, which introduces all of the additions mentioned above. Until the game finishes its download, check it out below and get ready for some new adventures in the world of Minecraft.
