The fourth “Resident Evil” film, called “Resident Evil: Afterlife,” premiered in Japan the other day and the stars all came out on the red carpet to pose for pictures and take questions from the media.

While there’s no denying that Wentworth Miller is still the same charmer he was back in the hit series “Prison Break,” the true stars of the night were actresses Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter.

Whether on purpose or not, both opted for shimmery fabrics for their mini-dresses, the difference being that, while Milla was her lean self, Ali proudly showed off her protruding tummy, as JustJared can confirm.

Usually, if two celebrities dress in similar gowns or even made of similar fabrics, it’s considered a faux pas, just like there’s one unwritten rule that says never to wear red on the red carpet.

Ali and Milla were the exception that made the rule, as they both shone at the photocall – literally. They were joined by Wentworth, looking dashing in a black suit, and Mika Nakashima, who also kept it sober in black leather and red heels.

While Milla went for a loose design that brilliantly put her incredible pins on display, in a sweet shade of green, Ali chose a purple design cut below her breasts, with a ¾ sleeve.

There was a difference in styling as well, with Milla going for a messy updo and oversized earrings, while her co-star rocked the side-swept hair with teardrop earrings.

Celebrity blogs and glossy e-zines are saying that Ali must be one of the most gorgeous pregnant celebrities ever to walk on the red carpet, literally writing the book on maternity chic with this cute, yet elegant outfit.

After “Resident Evil: Afterlife,” fans would better get used to the idea of not seeing Milla that often anymore, because she’s recently announced her intention of stepping down as an actress to get more family time.

Right now, she says, she can afford to take daughter Ever and travel with her all over the place but she won’t be able to do so when she goes to school, which means she (Milla) will have to stay at home.

Moreover, she’s determined to follow in Ali’s footsteps and become a mother again very soon, perhaps next year at the latest, once she’s done with her current contractual obligations.

“It’s been tough because this year piled up on me starting last fall, and I thought, Wow, I might not be able to have a baby this year,” the star said of what made her decide to quit movies.

“Right now we are shooting for next year because I don’t want there to be too much of an age difference between the two of them. So it’s gotta happen, and it’s gotta happen soon,” Milla said of her second baby.
