14 DAY TRIAL // Only days ago, Disney darling Miley Cyrus was saying how her ideal female performer was Beyonce, whom she saw like the ultimate woman because she managed to shift the focus from her as a person to her as an artist altogether. Again coming to show that she’s growing and maturing as a singer, Miley is now saying that she’ll be taking a break from recording to come up with a new, edgier sound, ContactMusic reports.
As per Miley’s own words, she has just finished her last ever pop record. She’s growing up, she says and, consequently, that will have to become apparent in her music as well. Because she doesn’t want fans (or, better yet, fans’ parents) to feel disappointed in her for switching to a new image and sound all of a sudden, she will be taking a break while she’s coming up with just the thing that best suits her personality, she says.
“Miley Cyrus is to take a hiatus from music – so she can drop her teen pop star image and concentrate on a rockier sound. The 17-year-old Disney star is sick of clean-cut songs and is planning to give her music a drastic makeover. And she’s decided the best way to prepare her fans for an edgier sound is by taking a break from recording altogether,” ContactMusic says as to Miley’s plans for a change.
“I want to do my last pop record, I’m working on a record right now. I kinda want this to be my last record for a little while and be able to take a break and just get all the types of music that I really love... you know my favorite styles. And be able have something edgier and not have to worry about people saying, ‘Oh, this isn’t what her fans want to listen to.’ Because in a few years, as I grow up, so will my fans and I won’t have to focus on that as much and I’ll be able to have more of the sound of music that I’m into,” Miley explained on a recent visit to England, where she also got to meet the Queen and Lady Gaga.
Still, the announcement doesn’t come as that much of a shock, precisely because of the Beyonce comment also mentioned above. It’s been a while that Miley has been sending messages as to looking to change something about herself and her image in the media – by all means, it seems that she has decided now is just the time to make that change.
