14 DAY TRIAL // Being continuously in the spotlight can’t always be a good thing, especially when the entire public and media are staring at you, looking for something to pick on you and point fingers at. This is Miley Cyrus’ excuse for the latest photo scandal, as she says in a post on her official blog that bad people want bad things to come from her, although her intentions are nothing but good.
Disney favorite Miley got all the headlines when a picture seemingly pertaining to one of her many personal photo albums was leaked on the Internet. It showed the singer and actress with friends, “slanting her eyes” at the camera, although an Asian boy was also seated close to her. Miley’s recent post on her blog is the closest thing to an official apology upset fans have got so far.
“I’ve also been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces! Well, I’m sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context! In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy? It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. If that would of been anyone else, it would of been overlooked! I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new ‘BAD GIRL’!” Miley writes.
She then goes on to say that the fault does not lay with her behavior, but with the media who is trying to blow things out of proportions just because she is a star. The singer then goes on to state that mass-media sources, as well as the public, need falling stars just for the sake of entertainment. “I feel like now that Britney is back on top of her game again, they need someone to pick on! Lucky me! Haha.” Miley adds.
However, towards the end of her message, Miley returns to nicer feelings, adding that those who know her are undoubtedly also aware of the fact that she would never mock anyone. “Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know what is on my heart. You guys know me and have been by my side every step of the way! You guys know my heart and know the most important things to me are my friends, family, fans, and GOD! In NO WAY do I want to disappoint any of you! But, when I have made mistakes in the past, I feel like I’ve owned up to them and apologized.” she concludes by saying.
