Disney star Miley Cyrus has just been voted the worst celebrity influence of the year – second year in a row. This comes to wrap a 2010 which saw the pop star at the center of various controversies, including one starting from a leaked video of her smoking a bong.

As the New York Daily News points out, even though she did nothing her fellow pop stars did, like have a baby, go to rehab, go to jail or have a public meltdown, this is the second year that Miley’s image takes a pounding.

What’s even worse, it’s her target fanbase that’s saying so: the people who voted for the worst celebrity influence of 2010 are 9 to 15-year-olds.

“Voted by the very people who made her a megastar, the 18-year-old took in a whopping 58% of the 99,000 votes in the poll for AOL’s JSYK.com (Just So You Know) website, which has a target audience of 9-15 year olds,” the NY Daily News says.

In being voted number one, Miley has even managed to beat Lindsay Lohan, whom 2010 saw in and out of jail and rehab, and who has been having a very rough patch for years in terms of a personal life.

“This year, Cyrus beat out frequent rehabber and jail bird Lindsay Lohan, volatile ‘Teen Mom’ Amber Portwood and punch-happy Disney star Demi Lovato. Rapper Kanye West and ‘Gossip Girl’ star Chace Crawford were also in the running,” the same media outlet reports.

Voters were not offered the ability to justify their vote as well but, given how frequently she made headlines in 2010, it’s not hard to understand why the “crown” went to Miley once more.

Aside from the aforementioned bong video, she was repeatedly criticized for her fashion choices in concert (and not only), the risqué image she was trying to promote, her lyrics and plenty of other things.

“All this follows Cyrus’ eyebrow-raising antics from 2009, which involved her dating a 20-year-old model, making ‘slant eyes’ in an informal snapshot criticized as mocking Asians, and being accused of pole-dancing on a teen awards show,” the NY Daily News says.
