The singer decides on a very weird tribute to her dead dog

Miley Cyrus is very determined to let you know that the passing of her dog has affected her deeply. After tweeting about it, faking suicidal thoughts and bursting out in tears on stage while singing a tribute song to the departed dog, now she's taken things, in characteristic Cyrus manner, one step too far.

Cyrus had a giant statue of dearly departed Floyd made and brought it out with her on stage, when she performed at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, on April 5. She can be seen in the photo lamenting over the statue while serenading her dead dog.

The song was “Can't Be Tamed,” and Miley teared up one more time during the performance, indicating that the wounds were still very fresh for her. The singer spoke to the audiences during her performance in an effort to explain to some bewildered members why in the name of all that's holy, she was rubbing and petting a giant dog.

“That was the hardest song of the night to do. As yawl know, because I lost my Floydie this week...Sometimes I just can't stop from breaking down crying,” Cyrus said according to Us Magazine, before adding, “But it's so healing for me to be here with you.”

But the tribute didn't stop there. It seemed that the entire show, or at least the largest portion of it, was dedicated to Floyd, the dog that got killed last week when attacked by a coyote, according to one of Cyrus' backup dancers.

Miley went on to sing a cover of Coldplay's “The Scientist” and introduced the track by saying, “I'd like to dedicate it to Floyd. These have been the hardest days I have ever been though.”

This is about the same message she gave when she first announced the death of her dog last week. On Twitter, she claimed it was the second worst day of her life and that she felt suicidal, wishing that Floyd had taken her with him.

Sensing that her daughter was very distraught, Miley's mother gifted her another puppy, which she promptly named Moonie. For a while, Moonie seemed to be doing his job perfectly, as Miley claimed she was very much in love with her new dog and able to get over Floyd.

But it wasn't long before she soon confessed to falling into a depressing state and lighting up a joint in honor of Floyd. Surely, the dog must have been an avid fan of marijuana for the singer to engage in such a weird tribute.

Weirder still is the giant statue of the dog during her concert. There is such a thing as hurting over the loss of a pet, but, at this point, it seems that Miley is more affected by the passing of one of her dogs than she is with her own family.
