The singer decided to ink up her rib cage after she was devastated when the dog died

Earlier this year, Miley Cyrus had a breakdown when her favorite dog Floyd, an Alaskan Klee Kai, died prematurely at the tender age of 2 after an encounter with a coyote. That, paired with an allergic reaction to antibiotics, was enough to put her out of action for a long time and keep her from performing on her Bangerz tour.

The singer seems to have not recovered yet from the shock and grief of losing her beloved pooch, and now she's decided to do something worthy of the dog that is no more: get his resemblance tattooed on her skin.

Photos of Miley getting a tattoo on her rib cage were posted to her Instagram account. Upon closer inspection, the tattoo, which looks like it's been designed at the end of a notebook by a fifth grader who got bored during third period Math, seems to be a medallion with the dog's profile in it and the words “with a little help from my fwends (sic)” written underneath.

The weird thing is that Miley didn't only talk herself into getting the tattoo, but she also got two more friends of hers to get the same ink done in the same place, one of whom was her good friend Wayne Coyne from The Flaming Lips. It turns out the good ol' Floyd was a bigger influence on a lot of people than anyone might have originally thought.

Either that, or Miley is one hell of a persuasive person with a real gift of talking people into doing things that work out to her best interest. Expect the tattoo to pop up on Miley Cyrus fans' rib cages across the world, thus turning Floyd into a worldwide phenomenon.

It should be mentioned at this point that the dog's portrait in the tattoo doesn't even resemble the departed pooch, it looks more like a cat in all honesty, which would render the whole tribute thing somewhat pointless.

This isn't the first time that Miley has paid tribute to the prematurely fallen dog. Right after he passed, the singer was so blinded by pain that she was left unable to perform. But when she did eventually return to the stage, almost all her performances were filled with tributes to Floyd.

There was no performance where Miley's eyes wouldn't well up with tears when singing certain songs, or even bawl out altogether. At one point, she even had a giant inflatable statue made of the dog and sang on stage while rubbing and grinding on the dog's leg.

Miley has since moved on to a new pet, but Floyd will never be forgotten from the looks of things.
