A couple of days ago, Miley Cyrus admitted that she would be overjoyed should carriage horses no longer be used in New York City.

Both the singer and her mom are quite convinced that horses are supposed to live on a farm and not in the city. This is because urban areas are highly polluted and therefore negatively impact on the animals' wellbeing.

“Miley grew up around animals and with all our horses growing up, so she is very passionate about protecting all animals,” the singer's mom reportedly told E! News.

For the time being, Miley asks that her fans sing an online petition and help rescue the carriage horses now living in NYC.

“Horses do not belong in a congested, urban setting where they constantly breathe exhaust in dangerous traffic. There have been more than 18 accidents in the past two years. The horses live in tiny stable stalls, with no access to green pastures,” the petition reads.
