Jennifer never got drunk and puked in front of Miley at Madonna’s party, so says Miley

Some weeks ago, while promoting the latest “X-Men” movie, “Days of Future Past,” Jennifer Lawrence talked a bit about her time at the Oscars 2014, saying she got so wasted at Madonna’s fancy afterparty that she actually puked on a patio in front of Miley Cyrus.

The story got a lot of attention in the press for a variety of reasons, not the least of which being the fact that Jennifer admitted to embarrassing herself like this, thus further cementing her “relatable” girl image.

Because she said Miley looked at her being sick on the patio and told her to “get it together,” it also got attention because this was a classic scenario of pot calling the kettle black. Miley’s antics have been keeping celebrity pundits very busy these past few months, so having her warn Jennifer she was acting out of place was truly something else.

Initially, the story made it into the tabloids as an unconfirmed rumor, but embedded below is a video with Jennifer recalling it just like that: she went to the Oscars 2014 with a friend and, for the first time in 3 years, she was determined to have a good time no matter what.

It turns out that this implied several visits to the bar with the friend so that, by the time the awards show was over and she had arrived at Madonna’s exclusive party, Jennifer was totally wasted. She got violently sick and vomited all over the place, which is when Miley walked by and saw it happen.

Speaking of Miley, she claims this “never happened.” ONTD has screencaps of a conversation between Miley and a fan on Twitter (with the handle “I’m a female rebel”), in which Miley flat-out denies this episode, basically calling Jennifer a liar. Miley deleted the tweet minutes after posting it.

Chances that Miley would forget such an incident are probably slim to none, so it’s probably safe to assume that Jennifer did lie – or, at the very least, exaggerate a bit.

Such funny anecdotes of the behind-the-scenes type are frequent with celebrities whenever they’re promoting a new project, be it an album, a movie, a book, or anything else. Most of the times, they’re clearly exaggerated for comic effect and they raise the star’s profile by making them more relatable.

Since Jennifer has been recounting anecdotes like this since before she became A-list, not few are those who are saying right now she’s trying a bit too hard for her own sake. Where do you stand on that?
