Says he would never hit a woman again

Mike Tyson, the man whose name was once synonym with the term “controversy,” is just now weighing in on the Chris Brown attacking girlfriend Rihanna scandal, which took place on February 8. Speaking with MTV, the champ, who is currently gearing up for the launch of his reality show, says that no man should ever hit a woman, although he can see where Brown’s rage came from, having experienced it himself.

Tyson, as fans must know, has been accused more than once of being violent towards his women partners, a claim that often proved to be founded. However, that is not to say that he could ever condone what Chris Brown reportedly did, when he lashed out at Rihanna and reportedly beat her to a pulp over a text message she had seen and wasn’t supposed to. The champ understands Brown’s rage, he says, but that should not have meant that he succumb to it.

“It’s none of my business, but you know what I say about that? I understand the situation. I understand passion with young kids. My personal opinion about that is, he’s just a baby. He’s just a little baby that don’t know how to handle his emotions when it comes to a woman. And he probably hears this and thinks, ‘I know how to handle my emotions’; we all think we do.” the 42-year-old star reveals.

Still, he says, from feeling rage to actually giving in to it and resorting to violence is a step no man should take. Tyson knows from his own experience that it’s easy to hurt a woman, and he’s sorry for it. Moreover, he adds, he would do things completely different if he had the chance to turn back time, just to make sure he would never make the same mistakes again. This is why he wants to make it clear for all temperamental men out there that it’s simply not OK to hit a woman.

“You can’t abuse them. It’s really sick what you [can] do. She has a space in your heart and you believe you care about her more than anybody in the world. Do I think it’s right to beat up a woman? No – hell no. Have I hit a woman before? Hell yeah. Was I wrong? Hell yeah. I’m a product of that environment. Do I regret ever doing that? Hell yeah. Would I do it again? Never.” Tyson concludes by saying.
