Good news for Microsoft, as another regional OEM stated its allegiance to Windows Phone ecosystem by announcing the upcoming availability of a brand new smartphone, the iimotion MWP-47.

Italian company Miia is Microsoft’s new partner for the release of Windows Phone handsets. Clearly, most of the products launched by Miia will only be available in Italy, but there’s a chance that international orders will be enabled as well.

Although the name of the handset is quite forgettable, the price will probably appeal to most customers looking for an affordable, but reliable smartphone.

According to ApoTheTech, Miia iimotion MWP-47 will soon be available in Italy for only €210 ($265) outright via the company’s online store. Potential customers will be able to choose from two color options: black and white.

The iimotion MWP-47 is quite decent when it comes to looks as well, as the smartphone measures 35.8  x 67.2mm and it’s only 7.2mm thin.

Spec-wise, the smartphone doesn’t come with anything outstanding hence the affordable price. Nevertheless, the iimotion MWP-47 meets all the requirements of the reference design made by Microsoft in collaboration with Qualcomm.

On top of that, it will ship with the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile operating system, namely Windows Phone 8.1 Obviously, you won’t get any Lumia exclusive features nor any Nokia apps and services, but all Microsoft suite of apps is included.

Moving on to specs, iimotion MWP-47 is equipped with a decent 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor inside, along with an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The handset is based on the reference design created by Qualcomm and Microsoft

Even though the smartphone packs only 8GB of internal memory, users will be given the option to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Surprisingly for a smartphone priced so low, the iimotion MWP-47 comes with an enhanced 8-megapixel rear-facing camera that features LED flash, autofocus and video recording. There’s also a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front for video calls and selfies.

The 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display supports HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution, which seems to be another strong point of the iimotion MWP-47.

Connectivity-wise, iimotion MWP-47 offers both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 support, as well as 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with A-GPS.

Last but not least, the Italian iimotion MWP-47 smartphone is powered by a 1750 mAh battery, which apparently hasn’t been rated by the manufacturer yet.

We’ll keep an eye out for when the smartphone is released on the market, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
