MK Armageddon doing well in sales too

You might know the computer animated film, Happy Feet, as it was released a short while ago, last November. Following the trend, this movie was turned into a video game, a successful one if we are to believe the latest numbers.

According to GameSpot, the publisher revealed that it has shipped more than 1.8 million copies of the game worldwide. The game was also released in November on PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii, GameCube, Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance and PC. 1.8 million copies is not half-bad for a video game adapted from a movie.

Midway is currently on a winning streak, as it previously announced that it has shipped more than one million copies of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, game released back in October 2006. Softpedia has also reviewed Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, and if you are curious, you can check out the game HERE.

Judging by the figures, looks like violence no longer sells. Imagine that! A bunch of penguins beating Mortal Kombat in sales. Maybe if they would have introduced Happy Feet (Mumble) as a playable character in MK it would have sold better.

Happy Feet (the game) features 3 different mini-games. The first is a dancing mode which simulated Dance Dance Revolution and you are required to push the button in response to the arrows showing on the screen. Second comes a "fishing mode" in which you are required to avoid jellyfish and octopuses and collect air bubbles in order to breathe. Last but not least, a sliding mode where the players sled and collect fish or sleds. It doesn't sound like a lot of fun, but hey, it's for kids! Maybe they like it better?
