Yahoo's technology will be still be used for the "sponsored" listings

It was first released last November as a beta version and even in the first day it returned "temporarily unavailable" messages to some users looking for answers to queries on the beta.search.msn.com website. Microsoft said it had expected such problems with MSN Search during its beta, or test mode, while soliciting feedback from users.

Today it's time to take a look at the real thing because the final version of the search engine is now available. This means that whatever queries you might have for Microsoft, you will no longer receive results via Yahoo, it's all MSN from now on. Yahoo's technology will be still be used for the "sponsored" listings that companies pay for, and those appear separately alongside the main search results.

To make answers to factual questions more relevant, MSN Search links answers to articles and information included in the Microsoft Encarta electronic encyclopedia. Users will be able to get definitions, calculations, geographical and historical information, and other information, and also view encyclopedia articles and content for any two-hour session via MSN Search.

To make the site easier to work with and to load, Microsoft eliminated some text advertisements claiming that the new site will load up to 50 percent faster and put the search field right in front of your eyes. However, the site doesn't look as clean as Google's and for sure it doesn't load as fast, but Microsoft has been known to complicate things before.
