14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft's Gabe Aul has just announced that the next Windows 10 for phones build will be released on Friday at 10 AM PT, despite an older statement that the company would generally avoid releasing new testing bits on Mondays and Fridays.
As previously announced by Aul in a blog post, Lumia Icon and 930 won't be supported in the next Windows 10 build, despite being a flagship. The Lumia 1520 phablet will, however, get the update on Friday, Aul has confirmed.
In a post dated March 27, Microsoft explains that the partition stitching feature that held back the previous release on a number of phones is now ready, and this is one of the reasons the majority of Lumia models will get the update.
As far as the Lumia 930 is concerned, Redmond explains that it's still struggling to test the new build on each particular model, so the development team most likely came across another bug that delays the release on the 5-incher.
“We still have some work to do to validate individual phones, as well as the builds that we’re flighting through our internal rings. I cannot guarantee a date for a new build,” Aul previously said.

The great news about this new build is that it will support both the 1520 flagship and low-end models such as the Lumia 520, which continues to be the top Windows Phone device across the world.
All in all, Lumia 930 is the most important missing device right now, so Windows Phone flagship owners might have to wait a little bit longer until they get to try Windows 10.
