Microsoft keeps working on Windows 10, and the company promised to ship a new build to insiders this month, but no other specifics have been provided until today.

Now Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, says in a short tweet that Microsoft will ship new ISOs of the Technical Preview to users when the fresh build becomes available, thus allowing them to perform a clean install or enabling those who aren’t yet members of the preview program to try out the operating system without going through the pain of gradual updates.

Details have not been provided, but some people suggest that Microsoft could ship the new Windows 10 build together with the phone version that’s also expected to arrive sometime this month.

It could be build 10009

A few days ago, Windows 10 build 10009 screenshots got leaked for the very first time, confirming that Microsoft had recently completed development of another advanced version of the operating system.

This could actually be one of the reasons the company is considering shipping new ISOs, as Microsoft usually makes this decision when it compiles a Windows 10 build that has many new features and improvements. The last time it happened was in late January, when it rolled out build 9926, which brought us Cortana, Continuum, and a revamped notification center.

At this point, it’s not yet very clear if build 10009 is the next one to be shipped to users, but work is underway at Microsoft right now, so many new tweaks could be made until the next version gets the green light for Windows insiders.

As far as the full version of Windows 10 is concerned, it won’t be available until later this year, most likely in the fall, after reaching RTM during the summer.

More details will most likely be provided when the next build becomes available and at the BUILD 2015 developer conference in April.
