Microsoft is a company of extremes. There is little doubt about that, and the need to constantly keep up with the tastes and market tendencies of end users has pushed the Redmond company to deliver a rainbow of choices when it comes down to its digital media player. Accessing the image towards the bottom will reveal to you the complete gamma of Zune offerings, with the obvious exceptions of the devices customized in accordance with a certain theme, such as the special edition Halo Zune.

"Get your game on with the Zune - Halo 3 Edition," reads Microsoft's invitation to both Halo and Zune fans, while offering a device: "pre-loaded with music, artwork, trailers and videos from Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3 Custom Halo graphics, special edition, customized packaging, exclusive episode of Red vs. Blue, with the Halo 3 edition Zune, we've got something specifically for Halo fans and the gaming community. 30GB. Wireless Zune to Zune Sharing. Big, 3-inch screen. FM radio. Tons of pre-loaded content."

On the heels of the initial Halo Zune, Microsoft will now make available the Zune - Halo 3 Military Edition. Essentially, the new version is the same as the previous one, but the color of the original edition was switched from black to brown for the new device. The new Zune design was tailor fitted to appeal to military service members, following feedback of the popularity of the digital media player among U.S. troops. As a part of the initiative, Microsoft has collaborated with USO, a non-profit organization aimed at delivering various benefits to military personnel.

"Microsoft has been a great partner to the USO of Metropolitan Washington for several years, supporting both our U.S. soldiers and the USO's mission," commented Elaine Rogers, president of the USO of Metropolitan Washington as cited by Teamxbox. " From Zune devices and Xbox 360 gaming consoles to new computers with the latest Windows Vista and Office software, Microsoft's technology has helped service members stay connected and entertained."
