Nokia just pulled the veil off its long-awaited tablet, the Windows RT Lumia 2520. This places Nokia in a somehow awkward position. The Finnish manufacturer is in the process of being acquired by Microsoft, but that didn't stop the company from producing a direct competitor to Microsoft’s latest Surface 2.

Nokia has partnered up with Qualcomm to bring life to the tablet, and now company SVP of Product Management Raj Talluri points out that there’s no actual contest going on between the two slates, performance wise, CNET reports.

“The performance on [the 2520] is brilliant. It’s really at the next level. It’s not even really a contest. In every area, it’s much bigger, faster and lower power.”

Nokia has slipped in a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, so Talluri is, of course, bound to consider the Lumia a better offering. Microsoft, on the other side, chose to add a 1.7GHz Nvidia Tegra 4 into its Surface 2 slate.

We’ll just have to wait until the Finnish slate comes out to see if all this turns out to be real, as Nokia hasn't provided all the details regarding availability of the slate.
