The CeBIT 2010 show in Hannover, Germany will certainly be a place of great interest, considering the high number of rumors that have been circulating over the Internet, recently. One such example concerns NVIDIA and Microsoft, which are said to be collaborating on a new device that will reportedly be announced at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona. Said device is believed to be the much-anticipated Zune phone, which has been rumored on the Internet for a while now.

According to a recent news-article on Gizmodo, citing a Spanish-language source, the two industry players have extended their collaboration to a new device, which could debut in the near future, namely at the upcoming MWC event, in Barcelona, Spain. While the technical details of the said device are under wraps, at this time, it's interesting to note that NVIDIA could have another design win for its Tegra processor.

NVIDIA, which is largely seen as a one of the world's leading manufacturers of graphics processing units, has recently been actively promoting some of its other products, such as the Tegra family of SoCs. The Santa Clara, California-based outfit managed to get Microsoft on the Tegra bandwagon, the software giant decided to refresh its media player lineup with the Zune HD player. Launched back in September 2009, the Zune HD was the first device to boast NVIDIA's Tegra processor.

Unfortunately, the Zune phone, or the Microsoft phone, is currently just a rumor, so there's a good chance that the said Tegra-based device won't carry any phone capabilities. This rumor, however suggests that the phone will adopt a 480 x 272 screen and an HDMI video out, weighting in at just 2.45 ounces (70 grams).

The Mobile World Congress is just days away from debut, by which time we should know to which extent the collaboration between NVIDIA and Microsoft has escalated.
