The team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox One home console announces that, starting with next week, all gamers who buy one of the devices at a number of locations in the United States will be able to get access to a free digital copy of Forza Motorsport 5, the racing title from Turn 10.

The announcement on the official Major Nelson blog, maintained by Community Manager Larry Hryb, states that “Hailed by critics and consumers alike as the best-looking and most realistic racing game of this, or any other generation, Forza Motorsport 5 has been embraced by Xbox One fans worldwide, becoming the best-selling racing game by console attach over the past decade.”

The price of the Xbox One in the United States remains set at 499 dollars, and Microsoft has repeatedly said that it has no plans to implement a price cut for the device at the moment

All those who are interested in the new offer and want to make sure that they get the free Forza 5 copy need to check with their local retailer in order to see whether they are part of the promotion.

The racing title from Turn 10 was announced alongside the new Microsoft console and is made using an entirely new engine that’s designed to use all the extra hardware power of the platform in order to deliver improved graphics and physics.

At the same time, the cloud capabilities of the Xbox One were used to power the new Drivatar system, which allows the game to create a racing profile for each user and then make them available for other players during races.

Since it was launched, the developers have delivered a number of new cars to Forza 10 via downloadable content packages and more are planned for the future.

They have also tweaked the core economic system of the game, which was initially unwilling to give players enough cash to rapidly populate their garages.

The new limited-time Forza 5 offer for the Xbox One is probably another attempt from Microsoft to increase the appeal of its home console, which has been lagging behind the PlayStation 4 from Sony in terms of overall sales.

In the United Kingdom, the company has reduced the price of the console in order to make it more interesting ahead of the launch of Titanfall, which will only be offered on Xbox devices and on the PC.
