Future plans to be unveiled

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 as it is commonly referred to, used to be a veritable showcase of gaming extravaganza, where companies heavily promoted their games and made big announcements about their future projects. Sadly, the last couple of years, after having changed ownership, E3 became more of a high level conference, with only the industry people attending it.

That is a real shame, as the old E3 satisfied the thirst of gamers for entertainment and offered them an over the top show with their favorite titles. As the conference isn't so popular now, more and more firms are announcing that they won't participate in future editions. Luckily, Microsoft isn't that sort of company and is still backing up the new form of E3.

In fact, it has recently announced that it would change its strategy regarding this conference, and would make bigger statements and tease about its plans regarding games and improvements to the Xbox 360 console. Speaking with community manager Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, the chief of Microsoft Game Studios, Phil Spencer, revealed that a lot of statements would be made at next year's E3.

“I came out of an E3 planning meeting just about an hour ago, and we were looking at some of the plans for the future and things that we might want to tease, and it's very exciting,” Spencer said. “There's a lot of stuff on the docket, and maybe we'll break the bank a little bit and talk about things that are further out, which will hopefully get the community excited.”

All in all, some pretty interesting pieces of news that might make quite a lot of Microsoft fans go to the next E3, which will take place in Los Angeles, at the city's Convention Center, June 2-4.
