The New Xbox Experience, or NXE, is one of the biggest updates to Microsoft's console, the Xbox 360. Set to replace the old blade-style dashboard, which has been standard since the launch of the next-gen console, this update will offer you a much more user-friendly experience and, from the Xbox Marketplace to navigating through games you own, it will completely revamp your browsing experience as well.

As we have seen already, Microsoft has made available screenshots and even a browser based demo in order to promote this future update, which is set to hit the digital Live service on November 19.

Recently, after the Tokyo Game Show (TGS), the new dashboard update was rumored to occupy 256 MB of space, which, for most users, who have consoles fitted with hard disks, isn't a problem, but for the ones who have the Arcade versions, with only 512 MB or even the early Core editions with no storage solution, this rumor was clearly frightening.

However, Major Nelson, an official representative of Microsoft, has just released a statement to clear out all the speculations going around on the Internet.

"The new Xbox experience will require 128MB of free space. A hard drive is recommended for the optimal experience, to take advantage of some new features, and to be able to enjoy the great movies, TV shows and games available on Xbox LIVE. While we expect the majority of consumers to download the New Xbox Experience without a problem, a small percentage of Xbox 360 owners do not have enough memory to accommodate the update. To help ensure all Xbox LIVE members are able to download the New Xbox Experience and enjoy its new features, Microsoft will be offering storage solutions to the Xbox LIVE community. We are not sharing details of this offering yet."

So there you have it, Arcade or Core owners, Microsoft will take care of you, by all means, just so you can get the NXE to your home console.
