As usual, when Microsoft is announcing the acquiring of another company, we all start banging our heads against the wall trying to figure out what are the Redmond giant's future plans.

After concluding the security chapter, Microsoft is setting sails for new "continents": telecommunications. The acquiring of Teleo shows that Microsoft is determined to explore the Internet telephony services.

In case you haven't found out yet, Teleo is a company whose software allows users to call from the PC on any phone in the world. The first idea that pops into our minds is that we will be able phone anywhere in the world using MSN.

Microsoft's philosophy is to combine and integrate the company's products, as if they were pieces of a puzzle, and since Windows Vista is not finalized yet, the new software acquired by Microsoft from Teleo will surely be integrated in the next OS.

Another good example is Windows Mobile 5.0, with which Microsoft hopes to go hunting for Blackberries.

It's interesting to notice that the war between the Internet giants: Yahoo, AOL, Google and MSN, is being fought in the most unexpected fields. After using e-mails, maps, searching algorithms and ad inserting as weapons, the "warriors" are going now after telecommunications.

Skype was the first, Google went along with it and now it's Microsoft's turn. Who's next?
