Microsoft is quite confident in its Xbox 360 console and wants to make it the best-selling console not just in North America, but also in Europe, through upcoming exclusive games as well as attractive bundles.

Microsoft's Xbox 360 is going through a great period in North America, where it's been outselling rivals like the PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii consistently in the last year, according to official sales tracking data.

Now, the American company has set its sights onto the European territory, where things are bit more complicated, given the popularity of the PlayStation 3, at least in mainland Europe.

Xbox Live Marketing Manager for the EMEA region, Robin Burrowes, told MCV that the company isn't scared, and that it really wants to make the Xbox 360 the best-selling console in the continent.

"We are... pretty bullish about getting to that No.1 position on the strength of our blockbuster games, with things we are launching like Gears and Forza," said Burrowes. "We are working really closely with a number of third-party publishers on games such as Modern Warfare 3, FIFA 12 and Battlefield 3. These big, big titles are coming in the next few months. There's certainly going to be a lot of attention in that traditional space."

"Then we look at the second wave of Kinect titles, like Kinect Sports 2 and Dance Central 2," he added. "Selfishly from an Xbox Live point of view, a lot of those Kinect games have far better Xbox Live capabilities. It all gives us a strong sense of confidence that we can get to that No.1 position."

Microsoft has a tough job ahead of it, as Sony confirmed that the PlayStation 3 is outselling rivals by around 50 percent in mainland Europe, although the UK is currently the single country where the Xbox 360 is beating everyone else.
