Redmond-based software giant Microsoft has just announced a series of enhancements brought to its Windows Azure Marketplace.

The enhancements brought to the portal are expected to result in a far better experience provided to all involved parties, including publishers, developers and their customers.

Among the changes that will be observed in the storefront, the software company notes the introduction of promotion codes.

This feature was designed to enable publishers to come up with special discounted offers for their customers, through the use of promotion codes.

“These custom codes can be included in targeted campaigns or on flyers or giveaways for special events. Customers simply type the code into the publisher portal to take advantage of their special offers,” Microsoft also explains in a recent post on Windows Azure blog.

Publishers interested in setting up promotion code self-service on their offers are encouraged to contact Microsoft at datamarketbd at microsft dot com.

Another important change in the Windows Azure Marketplace is the introduction of Data Cleansing APIs for developers.

There are 12 different offers coming from 6 different providers, Microsoft notes. Specific details on these can be found on the company’s Data Quality Services category via this link.

A third major addition to the list of features for the portal is the inclusion of support for a new language, namely Dutch.

“Today’s announcements are part of our ongoing commitment to provide a trusted, easy to use Marketplace for publishers, developers and data consumers worldwide,” the software company also stated.

Back in February, the software behemoth announced support for six languages to the storefront, including Japanese, Chinese, French, German, Spanish and Italian. The company also enabled HTML5 applications to consume data sets from the Marketplace.

Those Microsoft customers interested in learning more on these new offerings, or on taking advantage of any of them, should head over to the Windows Azure Marketplace today.
