14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft continues to improve its digital personal assistant, Cortana, by delivering many updates that add new features and enhancements.
Usually, these are silent updates that you barely notice, but from time to time the Redmond-based company releases major new features that are meant to make users’ lives easier.
This is the case with the last update for Cortana on Windows Phone, as she can now offer users better info on their trips.
As soon as you get a flight confirmation email into your inbox, Cortana will automatically assume that you have an upcoming trip and she will ask you whether you want her help tracking it or not.
Although Cortana could easily track flights, she can now do more than this. According to Microsoft, with the latest update Cortana will be able to keep all the details of a trip in her Notebook.

Simply ask Cortana to “show me my flights” or “show me my trips” and she will offer you specific details on upcoming travel.
In addition, she will also remind users what the five-day forecast is at their destination, when online check-in is available and when to head to the airport based on current traffic conditions.
But it gets even better, as Cortana can provide users with a venue map once they arrive at the airport, so they can drop off their bags faster.
Moreover, Cortana can now provide users that fly internationally with a currency convertor, so when they can check out the local curio shops, they can easily find out how much they are going to pay in their own currency.
In order to get advantage of the new trips-related features added, you can head over to Cortana / Cortana's Notebook / Interests, and then tap Add / Trip Planner.
Once you start getting trip emails, Cortana will keep track of the details for you, so you won't have to. According to Microsoft, Cortana will continue to get better and better via new updates, so make sure you check it out from time to time.
