Some important security issues are about to be patched

The Redmond company released an advance notification for the security bulletin scheduled for December 13, 2011, and as it turns out, the 14 bulletins will fix a total of 20 vulnerabilities found in Windows, Office, Internet Explorer, Publisher and Media Player.

Some critical and important vulnerabilities will be resolved that could allow an attacker to remotely execute malicious code.

Windows XP, Server 2003, Vista, Server 2008, including the R2 variant, and Windows 7 will all benefit from some important patches. From the Office suits and software category, Office 2003, Office 2007, Office 2010 and the Mac versions of Office 2004, Office 2008 and Office 2011 are on the list of applications about to be fixed to prevent malicious operations from occurring.

Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2007 Service Pack 2 and the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 will not be neglected, both of them being patched up in Bulletin 8.

Microsoft will also release an updated variant of the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool.
