The game will offer an experience similar to that seen on the PC and the Xbox One

Titanfall might be launched on the Xbox One and on the PC, but it’s likely that its biggest sales will be associated with the older Xbox 360 from Microsoft, which is still two weeks away from the moment it will be available on store shelves.

Yusuf Mehdi, the chief marketing and strategy officer at Microsoft, says that the delay has allowed his team and developer Bluepoint Games to create a game experience that will do justice to the original vision of the title.

He tells Polygon that, “I think we struck the right balance — it was Respawn, really, and the developer who struck the balance — which is, it will play great on Xbox 360. Believe me, we are thrilled about it. Xbox 360 is in, obviously, all the markets including the top 13 with Xbox One; we're in 48-plus markets for.”

The fact that the Xbox One is not available on all markets at the moment means that Titanfall on the 360 might be the only way for some players to experience the shooter from Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts.

There is no cross-platform play between the three versions of the title and it has been suggested that Xbox 360 players might get some extra content to compensate for the wait.

Mehdi adds, “At the same time, on Xbox One you can get some of those extra features that set it apart, and there will be people who want to do that, and there will be enough encouragement to go — but it will be a great experience on Xbox 360.”

Initially, the plan was to launch Titanfall on all three platforms at the same time, but the Xbox 360 one was delayed in order to give Bluepoint Games the time to polish the experience a little more.

The launch for the shooter has been largely successful in North America, with the only problems that players flagged linked to the sign in to the Xbox One home console rather than the game itself.

The title will be offered on March 13 in Europe and more outages might happen, mainly because it is unlikely that Microsoft will update its services before that date.

Respawn Entertainment has announced that it plans to offer long-term support for Titanfall, using both paid downloadable content, which is confirmed to add more maps, and free updates, the first of which will allow gamers to create private matches.
