Microsoft takes OneCare of green. Via a new initiative from the Redmond company marketed under the slogan "Get Green, Stay Green", Windows Live OneCare all-in-one PC protection capabilities are highlighted. The "Get Green, Stay Green" campaign is connected, and not by coincidence, with the celebration of St. Patrick's on March 17. The image integrated on the left, courtesy of Mel Sampat, Program Manager in the Mobile & Embedded Devices (MED) division at Microsoft, reveals the new OneCare approach to malware - "Nasty Virus? Don't worry, we took OneCare of it," getting leprechauns green again. The color is of course associated with the three levels of visual feedback OneCare is providing users, red for at Risk, yellow for Fair and green for Good.

"Windows Live OneCare is reaching out to consumers through a new campaign designed to highlight the importance of securing and maintaining all the PCs in their home or small office. Through the Get Green, Stay Green campaign, Microsoft is reminding the 57 percent of consumers who think maintaining a highly secure computer requires a great deal of time that it doesn't have to be a chore. Windows Live OneCare takes the hassle out of security enhancement, maintenance and backup, automating the process and providing users with a color-coded icon that, when green, tells users at a glance that their PC has built-in protection and is backed up and tuned up," Microsoft revealed.

The video embedded at the bottom of this article, courtesy of Microsoft's Brandon LeBlanc, features none other than Amy Barzdukas, senior director for Windows Live OneCare, who will take you through the features and capabilities of the security solution. You are bound to get a demonstration of how the OneCare Circle, as well as backup and the security status, can make your life better, from Microsoft's perspective. "To help celebrate St. Patrick's Today - the Windows Live OneCare Team is kicking off a brand new campaign: Get Green Stay Green. The Get Green Stay Green campaign is designed to make sure Windows Live OneCare users are staying 'green' - meaning their PC Health Status," LeBlanc stated.
