A new offer makes the original Surface pretty appealing for everyone

If you are looking for a real bargain these days and you’re planning to purchase a Microsoft Surface tablet, you’re in luck.

Windows Phone Central has come across a pretty special offer available on eBay that sells the original Surface RT tablet with 32 GB of storage space for only $179 (€130).

This means that you can now purchase the device with a 40 percent discount, but quantities are limited, so you really need to hurry up if you want to take advantage of the offer.

There’s one catch, however. The tablets you’re seeing here aren’t sold by Microsoft and do not come in new condition, with the seller listing them on eBay as “manufacturer refurbished.”

“An item that has been professionally restored to working order by a manufacturer or manufacturer-approved vendor. This means the product has been inspected, cleaned, and repaired to meet manufacturer specifications and is in excellent condition. This item may or may not be in the original packaging,” the seller explains.

At this point, the device is still in stock, with eBay’s order counter indicating that nearly 3,300 units have already been ordered, which clearly shows that consumers really want to purchase a cheaper Surface RT tablet these days.

The device is powered by Windows RT (which can be updated to Windows RT 8.1) and comes with an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, a 1.3 GHz processor, and 2GB of RAM. Several connectivity options are also available, including a microSD port, USB, and HDMI output.

The Surface RT was officially launched in October 2012 together with Windows 8 and was Microsoft’s first tablet in history, coming in two different versions, with 32 GB or 64 GB of storage space. The model, however, failed to impress and even caused a $900 million (€660 million) loss due to unsold units across the world.
