The Surface Pro 3, which has often been considered a rather expensive device since its launch in May 2014, is becoming more affordable thanks to discounts that Microsoft releases every once in a while, and this is exactly the case today thanks to a promotion than runs until April 27.

The software giant announces that all but one Surface Pro 3 models are available with a $150 (110 euros) price cut in United States retail stores and via its online store, which could suggest that an upgraded model is indeed prepared to see the light of day.

The Surface Pro 3, available in several hardware configurations, can now be yours in the United States at the following prices:

Surface Pro 3 128GB / Intel Core i5 - 1.9GHz / 4GB RAM - $899/845 Euro ($100/73 Euro) discount Surface Pro 3 256GB / Intel Core i5 - 1.9GHz / 8GB RAM - $1,149/1,070 Euro ($150/110 Euro) discount Surface Pro 3 256GB / Intel Core i7 - 1.7GHz / 8GB RAM - $1,399/1,260 Euro ($150/110 Euro) discount Surface Pro 3 512GB / Intel Core i7 - 1.7GHz / 8GB RAM - $1,799/1,760 Euro ($150/110 Euro) discount

Microsoft Surface Pro 4

This isn't the first time we hear that a Surface Pro 4 could launch this year, and all these price cuts are living proof that Microsoft is indeed gearing up for such a moment.

Previous reports on the matter indicated that Microsoft could launch the new Surface Pro 4 at BUILD 2015 next week or in late October, with the latter date making a little bit more sense given that the new device is supposed to come with Windows 10.

The new Windows 10 OS version is projected to see daylight this summer, so October just seems more likely for the Surface Pro 4 launch.

As far as hardware specs are concerned, it's too early to speculate on this, but expect the device to continue to be marketed as a laptop replacement, so a keyboard and a digital pen are both likely to be offered.
