The Redmond company announced that early next month, users will be able to access the 2008 version of Microsoft Student with Encarta Premium at the same estimated retail price as the previous version, namely $49.95. Microsoft Student is the company's homework productivity software created to offer a helping hand to students.
"Microsoft has enhanced Microsoft Student with Encarta Premium 2008 to help students be even more productive with their homework," said Dave Brooks, product manager for Microsoft Student. "It takes helpful resources and puts them all in one place on the PC, so students spend less time searching and more time learning. Parents also don't have to worry about feeling unprepared to help their kids with homework."
Alongside Encarta Premium 2008, Microsoft included a set of productivity applications in the upcoming version of Student, such as Microsoft Math 2.0., Graphing Calculator, Step-by-Step Equation Solver, Equation Library, Learning Essentials 2.0 for Students and Foreign language help.
In this manner, users will be able to access not only an encyclopedia of information and multimedia content, but also a collection of mathematical tools and an equation-solving solution featuring 2-D and 3-D graphing capabilities. Students can additionally access an extensive library of common equations and formulas, but also tutorials designed to familiarize users with Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel. With Microsoft Student with Encarta Premium 2008, the Redmond company is essentially offering a synthesis of the extensive volume of information available on the Internet.
"Microsoft wants its education solutions to be more accessible to students, teachers and parents, so Microsoft Student with Encarta Premium 2008 and Microsoft Math 3.0 can be purchased online," Brooks said. "These solutions can be easily downloaded directly to the PC as a resource to help students achieve academic success."
