Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft has just unveiled a new wireless mouse that has been designed to take advantage of the company's own BlueTrack tracking technology. The new series, dubbed Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000, has been specifically built to meet the requirements of those notebook and netbook users who are constantly on the road. Available in a wide range of colors, the new wireless optical mouse is ready to provide users with an alternative to other optical or laser wireless mice for notebooks.

Back in September 2008, the Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft officially took the wraps off its next-generation BlueTrack technology, claiming it to be the world's most advanced tracking technology. The technology itself is designed as a combination of optical and laser mice, enabling Microsoft's latest mice to deliver the power of the former with the precision of the latter.

The most recent release, the Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 series, measures 2.39in. by 4.04in., taking full advantage of the aforementioned tracking technology. It features a plug-and-go Nano transceiver that can easily be packed inside the mouse, and which boasts a performance of 2.4GHz wireless, enabling a reliable connection at wide range. Additional features include a 4-way scrolling design and four customizable buttons. With Windows 7 just months away from official debut, the new Mouse also comes prepared to provide support for the much-hyped OS. In that perspective it features a button for the Windows Flip feature in Windows 7.

Due out later in August, the new Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 series will provide users with 5 different color options, namely white, black, yellow, blue and fuchsia. The new wireless mouse from Microsoft is expected to become available for a price tag of US$39.95.
