The fix will be delivered via a future platform update

Although seen as a highly appealing operating system by many, Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 platform still packs some bugs that affect users’ experience with it.

Among these, we can count one that claims a small amount of storage on devices, regardless of whether they are built by Nokia, HTC, Samsung or another vendor.

This storage is reserved by the OS to something labeled as “other,” and has been around for a long time, it seems.

However, it appears that the Redmond-based software giant might have finally found the issue with it, and is gearing up for the release of a fix for this in an upcoming platform update.

Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore has confirmed this in a recent tweet, although no further details have been provided: “on ‘Other’ storage: some improvements coming in future updates, it will get better. Try turn-off SkyDrive auto-photo upload.”
