The Tokyo Game Show (TGS) has certainly been a very good event for Microsoft. The American company has finally gotten the upper hand on the biggest Japanese game companies, Sony and Nintendo, in their home country. According to recent sales reports and by looking at the previous PlayStation 3 exclusive titles, which are now coming to the Xbox 360, Microsoft's console is doing great.

By joining up with local developer Square Enix for the TGS and by announcing the fact that the very popular fighting game Tekken will have its sixth installment coming to the console, the company has become even more popular among Japanese customers.

Aaron Greenberg, director of product management for Microsoft, has pointed out the fact that the shift in Japanese developers is something that was bound to happen and that the Japanese market is now finally noticing the true potential of the Xbox 360. This is what he stated during a podcast with Major Nelson, the man in charge with the Xbox community.

"I think there's been a tremendous shift from the PlayStation brand to Xbox 360 among third-party publishers. We've come a long way... Square Enix's biggest RPG franchises, Namco Bandai bringing their top titles including Tekken 6. A lot of great arcade titles that the Japanese publishers continue to really recreate for this whole new generation, and we're finally at a price the world can afford."

He also added that more and more developers are considering the Xbox 360 as the most accessible console for their games. "We're the platform they're looking to to help bring and grow their franchises around the world."

One thing's for sure, the people over at Microsoft are very happy for the Xbox 360 and how it is now dominating sales. And let's not forget, the holiday season is coming soon and the American console is looking very good in what regards the lineup of games.
