After revealing the launch date of Windows 8, Microsoft also announced the pricing for the new Office 2013 packages that will be initially available in two different flavors called Office 365 Home Premium and Office 365 Small Business Premium.

One of the main differences as compared to the previous Office versions is the introduction of subscriptions which, according to Microsoft, have been created to better suit consumers' needs.

A single subscription grants access from several devices at the same time, including laptops, computers and tablets, but it also depends on the purchased version.

A one-year Office 365 Home Premium subscription for up to 5 users will cost $99.99 / €76.30 (which is only $8.33 / €6.36 per month).

This particular version includes all Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access and Publisher), it can be used on both PCs and Macs and offers 60 minutes of Skype world calling per month. SkyDrive storage is also available, with an additional of 20GB included in the package over the 7GB offered for free.

Office 365 Small Business Premium on the other hand will cost $149.99 / €114.5 per year ($12.50 /€9.50 per month) and boasts all Office apps plus Lync. In addition, it provides a 25 GB Outlook mailbox, offers the ability to host online meetings and gives you the option to set up a public website with no hosting fees.

A 30-day trial of both Office 365 Home Premium and Office 365 Small Business Premium will also be released.

Customers looking for a traditional Office suite (without a subscription) will have to pay $139.99 for Office Home and Student 2013 which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. Other versions will also be released, but pricing information will be revealed at a later date.
