2005-manufactured console spends two years in service

You probably know that Microsoft is not a total stranger to odd Xbox 360 repair stories, consumer service issues and lots of similar problems. Well, it could be that we just found out the most unbelievable story of them all (and it seems that it's also a real one): a gamer and Xbox 360 fan just got his console back from repairs after no less than two years! Yes, you read it right - Microsoft had this person's console in service for two full years!

According to xboxfamily forum user, when our guy, Carnage, heard the doorbell ring, he was not surprised: he had won a Halo 3 Legendary Edition from an Xbox play and win contest and he knew he would receive it sooner or later. However, he saw the box and it was too small, so he asked the delivery man what was inside - "an Xbox 360," came the answer. So, Carnage got very excited, hoping he would receive a Halo 3 console. He was wrong again, as it was nothing but his old Xbox 360, manufactured on the 14th of May 2005 which got RRoDed in 2006. He sent it to repairs and never got it back but instead of making a huge deal out of it, he bought a new one (which also RRoDed in April and was sent back to him just a couple of weeks before). You can imagine how surprised the guy was to find out that he owned two repaired consoles.

The interesting thing is that he had checked his inbox and noticed two strange messages from the manufacturer: "We have received you Xbox 360 and is in repair center" and "We have sent out your 360", but since he had completely forgotten about the issue, he just ignored them. He has recently sent an email to Microsoft and is waiting for a reply. One thing is clear, though: MS has done it again, big time!
