Microsoft might have already delivered two major announcements linked to the Xbox One recently, but it seems that the company plans to offer even more surprises to its fans, for both the next-gen console and the older Xbox 360, before the E3 2014 event that will start on June 10.

Phil Spencer, the leader of the division in charge of the hardware, states on his official Twitter account that fans should be watching out for information about new surprises, although he is not willing to name any franchises or suggest when they might be delivered.

The executive also explained to fans of the Xbox One that announcing the existence of Halo 5: Guardians and the fact that Kinect was being dropped in June would allow his company to focus on other announcements in the coming weeks.

It’s hard to imagine what could represent bigger news, but Microsoft needs to push its next-gen console as much as possible in order to make sure that it closes the sales gap that the rival PlayStation 4 from Sony has managed to open up since both devices were launched in late 2013.

Spencer says that there are also some surprises planned for those who still love their Xbox 360 and would like to get more content for it in the coming months.

Microsoft has already promised that during E3, it will reveal more information about new intellectual properties, about new experiences that will use Kinect and about the biggest video game franchises that the company owns.

At the same time, talk about other types of media for the Xbox One will be reduced.

The official E3 2014 Microsoft press conference will take place on June 9 at 9:30 AM Pacific Daylight Time.

The Xbox One will drop the Kinect motion tracking system from the retail package starting in early June and the price of the device will come down to 399 dollars or Euro.

The device will be launched in other secondary markets, including Japan, at some point in September of this year and the company has also explored the possibility of launching the device in China via a partnership.

Halo 5: Guardians was also revealed as coming at some point in 2015 on the Xbox One and the company has promised that the game will be integrated with the coming television series from Steven Spielberg, introducing an entirely new story arc to the universe dominated by Master Chief.
