14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft is working on several new Windows Phone models, and recent evidence has shown that a Lumia 740 is also planned for the next few months, most likely before the arrival of Windows 10 Mobile.
While Microsoft itself has remained tight-lipped on new Windows Phone devices that could launch in the future, the designers over at MicrosoftLovers have imagined a brand new Lumia 740 based on the existing rumors.
The resulting concept looks just like a real phone, and just by glancing at the imagined specs, it’s pretty clear that such a Lumia 740 project could really be successful.
Technical specifications
First and foremost, the Lumia 740 would come with a 5-inch AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution and featuring ClearBlack technology. An octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor would also be available, and so would 1 GB of RAM to easily run Windows 10 Mobile when it becomes available.
If you’re a fan of selfies, this particular model has anything you want, including an 8-megapixel camera with wide angle, LED flash, and 1080p video recording. As far as the main camera is concerned, MicrosoftLovers claims that a 13-megapixel rear unit with Zeiss lens, LED flash and 1080p video recording would also make sense.
And because selfies need to be stored somewhere, the phone would come with 8 GB of internal storage, while microSD card support can boost it to 128 GB.
The phone would be available in single- and dual-SIM configurations, with a 2650 mAh battery in charge of getting you through the day.
The concept design claims that this phone would run Windows 10 Mobile, but unless it launches in late 2015, chances to see this happening are very small because Microsoft still needs some time to complete development of the new operating system. In this scenario, running Windows Phone at launch makes much more sense since the upgrade to Windows 10 will be free.
