14 DAY TRIAL // Unveiled earlier this month, Microsoft Lumia 640 has been confirmed to arrive on the market sometime in April, but true fans can already pre-order the smartphone.
Several days after Microsoft went official with Lumia 640, lots of authorized retailers have started to take pre-orders for the smartphone. Even Microsoft has listed the Lumia 640 on a handful of official online stores and accepts pre-orders for the device.
Microsoft Lumia 640 is a budget-friendly Windows Phone handset, so expect this to be priced lower than other smartphones launched by the Redmond-based company.
In fact, WMPoweuser has found out that Lumia 640 is priced differently over Europe, so depending on country you might be getting the smartphone cheaper or more expensive.
For example, Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE is available at Microsoft Store UK for £169.99 (€236 / $255). On the other hands, the dual-SIM Lumia 640 can be purchased via Microsoft Store France for just €179 (£129 / $194) off contract.
Microsoft Store Germany seems to have the best offer on Lumia 640 LTE, which is now available for pre-order for just €159 (£115 / $172) outright.
The smartphone will be launched at different dates in Europe
It's also worth mentioning that from these three listings we understand that Microsoft Lumia 635 will hit shelves in the UK on April 7, whereas in France and Germany the smartphone will arrive on April 16.
The important thing is Windows Phone fans will be able to get their hands on this budget-friendly smartphone as early as next month.
The Lumia 640 comes with a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.
The smartphone is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit. It also packs 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB).
Microsoft confirmed Lumia 640 would ship with Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim right out of the box, but it will also receive Windows 10 for Phones when it gets released later this year.
