Back in mid October 2007, Microsoft Live Labs brought to the table Listas. Offered in addition to Deepfish, Photosynth and Seadragon, Listas is the latest Microsoft Live Labs prototype concept. Benefiting from the combined efforts of the Microsoft Research and Windows Live divisions, the Listas incubation project is currently in technology preview stage, allowing users to essentially share lists.

And in this regard, the project is a clear illustration of the Redmond company's increasing commitment to enriching its online portfolio of programs and services, a move that fits into its Software plus Services strategy, while at the same time providing a comprehensive and multifaceted infrastructure for Internet-based collaborative work.

"Listas is a tool for the creation, management and sharing of lists, notes, favorites, and more. It allows you to quickly and easily edit lists, share them with others for reading or wiki-style editing, and discover the public lists of other users", Microsoft explained. On January 9th, 2007, Microsoft Live labs announced the introduction of an update to the list-sharing service. With the refresh, users will be able to enjoy added functionality on top of what Listas delivered from the get-go.

"We have added a host of new features and improved designs to Listas. A fresh home page design and updated community page make finding relevant information even easier. New community lists like popular tags, recently created lists, and top users are all now available both in Listas and through RSS. For fellow GTD fans, there are now task lists. Improvements to printing support, history and version management, and many other additions and refinements round out the update", revealed a member of the Microsoft Live Labs.
