Good news for Windows Phone fans still looking for a cheap smartphone, as Microsoft plans to launch a new budget-friendly handset that offers similar specs as the Lumia 435 with a few exceptions.

The so-called Microsoft RM-1099 was spotted for the first time last month when it was certified in Indonesia. Then, a few weeks later the smartphone appeared in India at Zauba, but aside from a few details on the specs, no other info on the RM-1099 leaked online.

Today, the folks over at NokiaPowerUser have been able to get their hands on the specs sheet of the Microsoft RM-1099, so here is what you'll get in case you decide to go for this budget-friendly smartphone.

First of all, the RM-1099 will sport a small 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 800 x 480 pixels resolution. This type of display is standard for low-end smartphones, so we expect Microsoft to put a very low price on the RM-1099.

The good news is the smartphone will be equipped with 1GB of RAM, so you won't have to worry that some apps and games won't work on the device.

The smartphone will pack dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB storage

One piece of information that has been confirmed in previous news about the RM-1099 is that the handset will offer dual-SIM support. However, Microsoft RM-1099 might be available in two variants and the dual-SIM version may only be available in some countries.

On the inside, the Windows Phone handset will be packed with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, probably clocked at 1-1.2GHz, as well as 8GB of internal memory.

Unlike the Lumia 435 that sports a 2-megapixel camera, the RM-1099 might be equipped with a 2.2- / 3-megapixel camera with 864 x 480 video recording capability. In the front, the smartphone will feature a VGA camera for video calls and selfies.

The RM-1099 might be unveiled by Microsoft at Mobile World Congress 2015 trade fair, along with Lumia 1330, but the information has yet to be confirmed.
