Microsoft today unveiled a brand new clip as part of its Scroogled campaign trying to poke fun at the Google Chromebook and remind everyone that the search company is looking into their emails to deliver ads.

While Microsoft initially tried to gain everyone’s attention to the Scroogled campaign with this brand new video, it turns out that users aren’t really impressed with it and claim that the company is becoming really pathetic with its anti-Google efforts.

Many of the comments posted on YouTube as replies to today’s video are criticizing Microsoft for its campaign, especially because some of the things mentioned during the clip aren’t entirely accurate.

Here are some of the comments posted by users on YouTube:

“From the same people that brought you the Surface RT, the Kin, the Zune, Win Phone 7, and Windows Vista laptops. This reeks of desperation from Microsoft. Yes, why would I want an affordable laptop that's always up to date, free from malware, and lasts most of the day? Oh, and does have significant offline capabilities.”

“More desperation from Microsoft, of course. Plenty of people have covered just how nuts this is (really, Microsoft, come on -- I own a Chromebook and a Windows laptop, both are great, both serve their own purposes, and I own a Windows desktop too, and a Raspberry Pi running GNU/Linux, and.... I'm not an idiot and I know what I'm using for what).”

“A drowning man will clutch at a straw. Your time is over, MS... Sorry.”

“Oh Microsoft, oh Microsoft... (head shake). Sad.”

“This Microsoft Scroogled campaign is getting more and more pathetic, frankly it’s just a reflection on their own failings that they feel the need to shamefully continue with it.”

Google hasn’t yet replied to this new video, but Microsoft clearly wants to continue the Scroogled campaign with even more similar efforts, so expect such attempts in the near future as well.
