Microsoft offers a new statement designed to hype up the improvements that will arrive for both the Xbox One and the PC platforms with the upcoming Windows 10, changes that will be detailed by Xbox boss Phil Spencer at the January 21 Windows event.

Microsoft has big plans for 2015, and in terms of gaming, things are currently going really well, with the Xbox One finally trumping the PS4 with respect to sales in the US in the last two months. Considering that a new price cut has been made to keep it at a lower price than the PS4, it's expected that the trend will continue in the following months.

However, the company also has big hopes for the upcoming Windows 10 operating system, which is set to unite the corporation's many different platforms, from PC, to Xbox One, Windows smartphones and tablets, and much more.

Spencer pledges to monitor feedback even better

While talking with fans on the Xbox Wire, Microsoft's Phil Spencer amps up the future plans for the Xbox One, first highlighting that regular system software updates will still be instrumental in making the changes fans want most to the console.

"Since it launched last year, Xbox Feedback has been instrumental in helping us best determine what our fans want and expect from us, and it’s clear that the Xbox One wouldn’t be what it is today without their valued input," Phil Spencer, head of Xbox says. "We’re incredibly proud of the Xbox One and are fully committed to ensuring it’s the best place to play console games in 2015 and beyond."

Through Windows 10, the Xbox team is helping PC gaming

The statement also covers the aforementioned Windows 10, saying that it will get the Xbox experience to spread out to more devices, including the PC, where Microsoft hopes to "help PC gaming flourish."

More specific announcements are promised on January 21, when Microsoft is expected to make some official announcements concerning Windows 10, including one from Xbox boss Phil Spencer. Until then, nothing is certain.
