Microsoft is not falling behind in the race to go green. In fact, the Redmond company has applauded Windows Vista to be its greenest operating system to date, while at the same time stressing the relevance that decreasing power consumption can have to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership, along with delivering a positive impact on the environment. But Microsoft is also involved in such projects, as the Climate Savers Computing Initiative. This while Microsoft Research is hard at work on a new energy saving hard disk Off-Loading technique.

Yet Microsoft is getting greener and greener, not only though its own products, but also by association. In this regard, the company announced that Seventh Generation, an U.S. manufacturer of environmentally safe products aimed at household and personal care, has chosen Microsoft Dynamics NAV for its enterprise resource planning system and business management solution.

"We found that Microsoft Dynamics NAV straight out of the box covered 95 percent of our business needs," said Nancy Stoddard, vice president of Information Technology for Seventh Generation. "We needed a solution that was flexible, easy to tailor, and accommodating to our future growth. Microsoft Dynamics NAV gives us those features. Seventh Generation will be able to adapt its Microsoft Dynamics NAV system as the company grows and can shape its look and feel."

With the business of nontoxic products exploding, Seventh Generation needed a solution to keep going strong, and saw in Microsoft Dynamics NAV a recipe for success. Moreover, the business management solution will be right at home at Seventh generation, along with additional software products from the Redmond company, including: Windows XP, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server.

"Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a perfect business-management solution for rapidly growing companies such as Seventh Generation," said Michael Park, corporate vice president for U.S. Microsoft Dynamics business at Microsoft. "It's a nimble, comprehensive, very scalable and easy-to-use technology that is built for business expansion."
