No it wasn't. This is just a nice and well planned prank.

If one might have came across the idea that there are people in this world that have too much time to spend, then wait until he sees this website. I am talking about the MSFirefox's site that is dedicated to the unique union of Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Firefox.

What? You haven't heard? It's true! The MSFirefox 2007 professional edition is available for download as you read this. Righhhhhhhtttttttt...

Well, actually, there is a website that describes such a product, but that is nothing more than a very laborious way to play a prank on everyone that is dumb enough to believe it. I know that anyone in a good state of mind would laugh his/her brains out when hearing such a thing as Microsoft buying Firefox and combining the two browsers, but I already know a bunch of people that really believe such a thing.

That is how I've heard about it in the first place. I found myself stopped on the street by a dork that is trying to explain to me how Microsoft made Firefox better and the final result is MSFirefox, the ultimate browser. Ha ha ha!

So... the fact of the matter is that this website is really nice. I know a whole lot of websites that are supposed to be really serious and their not as good as this one. This website is like a geek's version of the Apocalypse and it is not a bad example of what it would be like if Microsoft would really buy Firefox.

Let's analyze this site a little. It seems that this web designer has got a lot of "sick" imagination and a whole lot of spare time. In "his world", Microsoft acquisitions Mozilla Firefox and combines IE with it. The final result is basically a mockery of Internet Explorer that is pushed to the superlative.

That apart from the whole design of the page that is really nice and the little details like Bill's head popping up, an actually good "package" for the "product" that many would think it's real and the Copyright ? 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved that appears at the end of the page to make everything look legit; I love the so called features that are supposed to be found in the new, "better" browser.

The Tabs for example: Do more by doing less. Open multiple copies of Microsoft websites in one window with tabbed browsing. See thumbnail images of all Microsoft sites in a single view. Organize multiple tabs of sites into a single tab group of everything Microsoft and save it as a favorite. Opening 30 of your favorite Microsoft sites has never been easier.

The one that created this site actually has the qualities of talking absolute rubbish in a way that makes it seem real. For one that has got absolutely no idea what a browser really does I bet that all of this sounds promising... And I am not kidding. I actually believe that there are such people in abundance in this world that will really try to get this MSFirefox.

Oh yeah... almost forgot: The RSS feature which in "MSFirefox" is short for Real Simple Sex. Now, this is the one that cracked me out the most. Just check out what is written on the web page: RSS is a relatively new algorithmic technology fueled by the continued hot desires of many online web users. Accessed by an illuminating an icon on the toolbar - a single click allows you to view and optionally download anything that resembles a tit, a boob or a breast - rendered directly in the browser with speeds up to 10 times faster than the competition. Real Simple Sex can scan and arrange explicit images/pictures in order of quality and effectively filters out irrelevant content such as balloons or soccer balls.

Who thinks of stuff like that? I would really love to meet the one that is responsible for this website because I want to drink a beer with him.

This is a perfect website to show people how every information can be manipulated and one that knows what is doing can make a perfectly credible website that sells absolutely nothing for a very high price. If you take a look, you'll se the detail the web designer has put into this site, especially in the pictures.

Look at the package of the product:

Now try and tell me that there aren't people out there that would believe that really exists.

Also look at the one which has: Spokesman Bill tries to calm Mozilla extremists during the acquisition conference written under it.

Although this would very much seem like a total waste of time, well, from my point of view, it isn't.

Even if who made this website is not getting any monetary compensation (at list I don't see him asking for any money), he has made its point. I might be a little off from the guys' original intention, but I think this website shows how someone can make a big deal out of nothing and how companies like Microsoft are full of bull.
